Terms of Service
Revision of 21 July 2026
Grimhold is a game made by one person. It is free, you can only get in by invitation, and it is still being built. The terms below are written on that basis rather than copied from a service with a support department.
Who runs it
Michael Shvets, as an individual. Contact for anything: privacy@solshark.me.
Age: 16 and over
You can play from the age of 16. Age is not verified: an "I am 16" checkbox confirms nothing, and we are not going to pretend it does. Instead of a check, a plain term — if you are under 16, you may not use the game.
If you are under 18, it is worth telling your parents what you are playing. This has nothing to do with your data — from 16 you decide about that yourself — but a contract is a contract.
Account
- There is no open registration: an account is created from an invitation.
- The invitation is for you. Do not pass it on: the next person gets into the game on your responsibility.
- The password is yours. We do not know it — only a hash is stored.
- If you notice someone else logging in, write. That is not bureaucracy: we have no other way of finding out.
What you write
The text you enter stays yours. No rights are transferred: it is needed only to make the game work — to save a turn, show it to you again, and pass it to the model that runs the Game Master.
What you may not do:
- Nothing illegal.
- Nothing sexual involving minors — in any form and under any pretext, including fiction.
- Do not try to get outside the game: breaking the model, reaching other people's campaigns, bringing the server down.
- Do not put other people's personal data in there — and, frankly, not your own either.
The world of the game is grim, and the Game Master does not soften it into something child-friendly. But the model has its own limits, and sometimes it will refuse to continue. That is not a malfunction.
The game is run by a language model
The Game Master is not a person. It can be wrong, forget a detail, or describe a scene differently from what you expected. It gives no advice — not medical, not legal, not any other kind — and its words should not be treated as anything other than fiction.
How much you can play in a day
Every turn and every image costs money, and the owner of the game pays it. So each player has a daily spend ceiling: currently 3 US dollars per day. What counts is the cost, not the number of turns, so a turn with a new image eats noticeably more than an ordinary one. The counter resets every day at 00:00 UTC.
When the ceiling is reached, the next turn does not go through: the game replies "The daily spend limit is used up." The campaign is intact and is not going anywhere — just come back after the reset. A single turn may go slightly over the ceiling; the refusal arrives on the next one.
The size of the ceiling is set by the owner of the game and can be changed at any time, including downwards. The owner can also manually add spend for the current day — by request only; there is no automatic payment. The game is free and you cannot buy more play. If that ever becomes possible, these terms will change before it goes live.
No guarantees
Plainly, without legalese:
- The game may be unavailable. It runs on a home server.
- The game may stop mid-scene if the daily spend ceiling is reached. That is not a malfunction — see the section above.
- A campaign may be lost to a failure. Backups exist, but durability cannot be promised.
- Something may break after an update. The game is still being built.
- The game may shut down. It is a personal project, not a business with obligations.
Therefore: the game is provided as is, free of charge and without warranties. There is no liability for losses arising from its use or unavailability, to the extent the law allows that to be limited. If the history of your campaign matters to you, export it; the button is there, and that is a working answer rather than an excuse.
Termination
You can delete your account at any time, from inside the game. The deletion is real: records are erased, not flagged as deleted. Details in the Privacy Policy.
For our part, access may be closed for breaching the terms above. For a personal project running on invitations that will most likely be a conversation rather than a sudden ban — but the right remains.
Data
What is stored, who receives it and how to delete it: the Privacy Policy and the subprocessor list. They are part of these terms.
Changes
The revision date is at the top. Material changes will not be introduced silently.
